David Kemp Hall Dedication

During the dedication of David Kemp Hall, Gil Kemp '72 described his and his wife Barbara's commitment to the project as an investment in students who, "when they leave Swarthmore, will do marvelous things and be leaders who make a positive difference in the world." Kemp was joined at the podium by philanthropist Eugene Lang '38 (9:40), who recalled how another great friend of the College, Thomas McCabe '15, chose to "pass the baton" of caring for Swarthmore to him and that he "took that baton very seriously." Noting that he is now in a position similar to McCabe, Lang added that attending the dedication made him "happier than I could possibly ever feel."
